Dr. Lisa Hwang
Dr. Lisa Hwang was recruited to our practice for her stellar training and passion for Aesthetic Surgery. A native of Los Gatos, Dr. Hwang returns to the Bay Area having attended medical school at Lehigh University/Drexel University in an accelerated B.A./M.D. program. Granted a music scholarship for violin, she served as the Concertmaster of the Lehigh Orchestra, graduated with High Honors, and was elected president of her medical school class. After graduation, she completed a full General Surgery residency in Philadelphia and dedicated another two years to plastic surgery research at the prestigious NYU Langone Medical Center in New York City.
Dr. Hwang pursued an independent three-year Plastic Surgery residency at the University of Illinois in Chicago as well as an additional fellowship in Aesthetic Surgery in Sacramento. She is an active contributor to her specialty, having co-authored over 25 peer-reviewed articles and abstracts.
Lisa Hwang, M.D. is a scholarly and dedicated physician who is highly regarded not only as a meticulous and artistic clinician, but also for the kindness in her demeanor. Patients find her to be a calm and attentive listener who is focused on individualized care—she believes that a deep understanding of each patient’s desires, lifestyle, and expectations for surgery is critical in achieving the most natural and rewarding results.
In her spare time, Dr. Hwang is a fitness, music, and fashion enthusiast. A Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, she enjoys road biking and scenic hikes, but she also finds solace in playing classical violin and piano. She is passionate about everything related to health, lifestyle, and beauty. Having moved across the country to fulfill extensive training, she is able to draw from a wealth of personal experience to provide a unique and comprehensive perspective as your plastic surgeon.
Dr. Lisa Hwang is bilingual and speaks English and Mandarin Chinese.
